Armada Praxis Yalıkavak Spor Kulübü, one of the contenders in the Turkish Handball Federation (THF) Women's Super League, took a crucial win against visitors Ortahisar Belediyesi Spor Kulübü at Bodrum Binnaz Karakaya Sports Hall. The match, closely fought from beginning to end and full of goals for handball fans, ended with two points for the hosts.

The Balance Held in the First Half

Both sides began with defensive security as a priority. Motivated by the strong backing of the Bodrum crowd, Yalıkavak were effective in attack, but Ortahisar Belediyesi's resilient play kept the score level. The opening thirty minutes played out as a goal-for-goal duel, and the sides went into the dressing room tied at 13-13.

It was the hosts who started the second half more aggressively. Stepping up in particular as the final ten minutes approached, Armada Praxis Yalıkavak looked to open the gap with goals at the crucial moments.

Moving 24-19 ahead in the 49th minute for a five-goal lead, the Bodrum side kept control in the closing stages despite their opponents' efforts to come back. Ortahisar Belediyesi cut the gap to two in the final minutes, but time ran out and Yalıkavak left the court 28-26 winners.

Stars of the Match: Gülcan and Ceylan

The lion's share of the credit went to Yalıkavak's scorers. Gülcan Tügel was the team's top scorer with 8 goals, followed by Ceylan Aydemir with 6 and Beyza Gedik with 5. Goalkeeper Yağmur Bembeyaz's crucial saves also played an important part in the win.

Armada Praxis Yalıkavakspor head coach Kıvanç Özcan said ahead of a busy run of fixtures:
