Armada Praxis Yalıkavakspor Are Growing in the Youth Setup

Youth players and their coaches gathered in the hall, with the Turkish flag behind them

Competing successfully in the Women's Handball Super League and in Europe, Armada Praxis Yalıkavakspor also stand out for the importance they place on their youth setup. The summer programme, run with 50 athletes born between 2007 and 2014, will grow to as many as 200 athletes over the winter.

Disciplined Work in the Youth Setup

Athletes in the club's youth setup train on an intensive programme six days a week. The young athletes in the 12-13 age group in particular learn the foundations of professional handball while also building strong team discipline. The work is led by head coach Gözde Gökengin, alongside assistant coach Zelal Dinçer.

President Emin Palalı: “We are investing in the future”

Club president Emin Palalı said of the youth work:

“At Yalıkavakspor we think not only about today but about the future. We invest in the youth setup so that our successes in the Super League and in Europe can last. The fact that the programme we began in the summer with 50 athletes will reach 200 over the winter also shows the interest in handball in Bodrum. These children are our future.”

Vice-president Selim Yıldız: “The youth setup is the club's main pillar”

Club vice-president Selim Yıldız underlined the importance they place on the youth setup:

“At the heart of Armada Praxis Yalıkavakspor's success lies a strong youth setup. Our aim is to introduce more young people to handball every year and to develop them both as athletes and as individuals. We thank our coaches and the families who have contributed to this process.”

Bodrum's Pride

While competing in the Super League and in European competition, Armada Praxis Yalıkavakspor also aim to contribute to the national team of the future with athletes developed in their youth setup. The club's vision is to make Bodrum one of the important centres of handball.
